Paperback. Good. John Taylor Smith (1860-1937) Bishop and Chaplain-general. He was converted at the age of eleven. In 1891 he went to Sierra Leone as a missioner, becoming Bishop in 1897. An honorary chaplain to Queen Victoria, he was appointed chaplain-general in time for World War I. Everybody's Bishop was jovial and saintly, a regular speaker at the Keswick Convention. Rising early for prayer and reading was his lifelong custom. Daily he passed on to his friends his celebrated 'Best thought' gleaned in his morning devotions. He believed in and relied upon God's minute ordering of his life. Bishop Taylor Smith never wrote a book. But he left behind a legacy to the whole church of God --his wide margin Bible. It is from the notes in his much marked Bible that this book is compiled.
