While the writer was teaching in Chattanooga, one of his former students sent him an urgent plea for information concerning methods of Bible study. Thus was rekindled a dormant interest and the result was 2 Bible study methods courses offered at Te nnessee Temple College. During the 3 years I was teaching these courses, my students enrolled, evidenced such a growth in spiritual insight and knowledge of the Word that I became increasingly impressed with the value of passing on some of these p rocedures to others. The author's aim in writing this book, then, is to set forth principles of Bible study which have been developed and proved by students and teacher, with the hope that they will be useful to other students & laymen in their eff orts to attain a better grasp of the truth of God as revealed in His Word.
